Tom joined Celtic House in 1996 and has generated $2B of exit value as a lead VC investor across four institutional funds. He has focused his efforts on SMB SaaS throughout the 2010s, including Auvik Networks—one of the fastest growing SaaS companies in North America.

He holds a Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Toronto and was a post-doctoral researcher at MIT. He was an early student of Dr. Geoff Hinton in the field that became Deep Learning.

He was the first Canadian to climb the Troll Wall and was a contributor to the development of sport climbing in Ontario..
